​​Job Summary:

Under the supervision of Economic and Security (EcoSec) Team Leader, the Economic Security Generalist carries out basic field and office work related to implementation and monitoring of the ICRC EcoSec programs in Lebanon. This position contributes to the quality delivery of the EcoSec activities according to ICRC defined standards, processes, and policies. The qualified candidate should have a degree in Economics, Agronomy or equivalent, with 2 to 3 years of experience in relief, food security, livelihoods with an International / Non-Governmental Organization.

General Description:

Under the supervision of Economic and Security (EcoSec) Team Leader, the Economic Security Generalist carries out basic field and office work related to implementation and monitoring of the ICRC EcoSec programs in Lebanon. This position contributes to the quality delivery of the EcoSec activities according to ICRC defined standards, processes, and policies.

Objectives and Tasks:

Under direct supervision of the EcoSec Team Leader, contributes to the implementation of EcoSec objectives and interventions in a beneficiary-centric approach (100%)

  • Conducts registrations, assessments, data collection, monitoring, and evaluation of EcoSec interventions using pre-defined tools and methodologies
  • Support in the implementation of EcoSec activities following relevant work plans and logistics procedures
  • Follows relevant cash assistance procedures, including distribution tracking and reporting (in PAM)
  • Maintains and organizes data on EcoSec, ensuring that all necessary EcoSec related files and logistics data (packing lists, ROs) are properly collected and achieved.
  • Writes field trip reports, Minutes of Meeting, and contributes to programmatic reporting by collecting economic security data on households' economy, nutrition, markets, etc., using data-collection tools and devices and performs basic qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Provides regular feedback to the EcoSec Coordinator and EcoSec Team Leader on progress and achievements, lessons learned, gaps, and field challenges
  • Supports national society partner's volunteers during implementation of EcoSec activities and provides needed guidance and assistance.
  • Maintains relationship with relevant stakeholders, humanitarian actors, private sector, and authorities, in agreement with hierarchical and technical supervisors.

General Duties:

  • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
  • Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct.
  • Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
  • Always respects and observes staff regulations and security rules
  • Always represents the ICRC in a professional manner.
  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line manager.
  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other colleagues when necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.
  • Is aware of the delegation's objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position.
  • Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC's image.

Skills

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Years of experience required: 2 to 3 years of experience in relief, food security, livelihoods with an International / Non-Governmental Organization.

Level of education: Bachelor's Degree.

Field of education: Economics, Agronomy, or any other job relevant field.

Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English, French is a strong asset.

Computer Literacy: Advanced computer skills in MS Windows and MS Office Suite.

Job Details:

  • Job Location: Beirut, Lebanon.
  • Working Schedule: Monday till Friday, from 8 Am till 5 Pm.
  • Contract Type: Determined Period, until 31.12.2024 (renewable based on performance and need for position).
  • Salary Package: 1,570 – 2,641 USD/Month (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
