Position summary: A procurement intern assists procurement professionals with various tasks related to sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and data analysis to gain practical experience and support the procurement team.
Primary duties and responsibilities
1- Procurement infrastructure: Development and renewal of database:
• Create a vendor list for each category of product.
• Find new sources for material, locally and internationally, such as Egypt, Spain, etc… through extensive market research.
• Be proactive in determining needs – Use industry knowledge and competition analysis to determine what the company needs from machinery to new tools and new suppliers on the market.
• Training, development, and improvement of the ERP system.
• Choose the right suppliers to save money according to target using supplier evaluation tools – Meet with salespeople, compare products and prices, and know how to negotiate sales agreements and long[1]term contracts, locally and internationally.
• Develop templates that will help follow request for quotations and keep everyone informed about pending quotations or purchase orders.

2- Supply chain analysis:
• Assist the business development manager in setting up new sourcing strategies.
• Based on historical data - past 6 months - develop statistics on materials ordered, steel and others, to analyze the products we buy the most, check which one we can stock, and choose a pull or push strategy.
• For these products used in the past 6 months, perform a comparison with different suppliers to perform cost savings.
• Based on the results, as well as the projects in hand, develop a procurement schedule for the next 6 months
