Position Summary:
Measures cycle times and establishes standard operating procedures (SOP) and propose changes that improve quality, simplify manufacturing, reduce job times and standardize designs and manufacturing processes.
Core Functions:
• Measures cycle times of all operations on all workstations.
• Supervises the elaboration of all standard operating procedures for all existing processes on the shop floor and at the office.
Details of Function:
• Prepares a program to measure all cycle times (CTs) on all work station according to importance priority.
• Analyzes all cycle times with the aim of synchronizing CTs within each process in order to secure flow.
• Prepare the time sheet analysis of each and every product.
• Receives the daily reports from the Production foremen and compares actual cycle times with the allocated ones. Checks their remarks, and then draws a list of improvement priorities.
• Calculates the monthly efficiency per worker, per workstation and per department.
• Prepares the production planning (monthly) and the production schedule (weekly) and remits it to Production Manager.
• Attends the weekly meeting between Operations Manager, Production Manager, Head of maintenance and all foremen.
• Discusses problems and improvement ideas, and draws countermeasures, gets Production Manager’s approval, and supervises implementation.
• Supervises the writing of all SOP’s, at the shop floor and at the office. These Ops are to be prepared by the concerned teams.
• Oversees the monthly manufacturing program to identify the needs for missing SOP’s.
• Works on process improvement with engineering, product designers, and any concerned party in “Adhoc” meetings
