Research And Development Manager

Job Purpose

·        Formulates, directs, and coordinates all research and development programs. Introduces new products and processes, works on existing and newly discovered ingredients and technologies to invent new recipes and concepts into overall company strategy makes recommendations for the improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes

Principal Accountabilities

·     Insures and analyzes the development for products.

·     Sets up trials and tests panels with a comprehensive scoring technique.

·     Modifying existing products and processes and developing new ones.

·     Works closely with the Sales / Marketing to define product’s characteristics.

·     Works closely with the Production manager to ensure the proper transfer of technologies from trials scale into the production line.

·     Research for new ingredients and methods of application.

·     Selecting raw materials from suppliers.

·     Research for new packaging material and machines to improve the keeping quality and shelf life of the product.

·     Identifies and elaborate new solutions for product application on different production lines.

·     Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards: Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether products or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

·     Checking and improving quality control procedures, from the raw material stage through to the finished product.

·     Preparing product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products.

·     Train operations and quality assurance personnel on new manufacturing processes and new formulation information.

·     Addressing issues of safety and quality.

·     developing the ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety;

·     Working with suppliers on quality issues and new product ideas. 

·     Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.

 



Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

·        Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Bio-Chemistry, Biology, or Chemistry from a reputable university

·        5 years of experience in similar position with a well-established firm
