Position Summary / Job Brief:
The MEP Design Lead is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing both macro-level strategic initiatives and micro-level technical execution within the MEP domain. This leadership position requires a robust
technical background combined with strong managerial capabilities to drive design innovation, precise cost estimation, and efficient project delivery. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex design
challenges while providing clear direction to ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
A Master’s degree in MEP Engineering, Building Services, or a related field is a plus.
Required Experience & Certificates:
Professional certifications are highly desirable.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in MEP design and estimation within the construction industry, including significant leadership responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience in handling complex projects across industrial, residential, and commercial sectors.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other MEP design tools.
Strong understanding of MEP design principles, load calculations, and system integration.
Proven ability to implement acceptance criteria and conduct detailed design reviews and approvals to ensure project quality.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to drive strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and cultivate a collaborative work environment.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, French, and Arabic is required.
Tasks and Duties:
Develop and implement the strategic vision for the MEP Design and Estimation department in alignment with overall business goals.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design engineers, estimators, and technical specialists.
Oversee departmental budgets, resource allocation, and workflow management to ensure timely project execution.
Establish and drive long-term design strategies and standards across multiple projects, incorporating clear acceptance criteria for project deliverables.
Liaise with senior management, project stakeholders, and clients to define project scopes, performance expectations, and quality benchmarks.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to keep the department at the forefront of innovation.
Oversee detailed MEP design processes ensuring technical accuracy, functionality, and compliance with codes, standards, and predefined acceptance criteria.
Conduct comprehensive design review and approval sessions to validate design quality, coordination, and adherence to client and regulatory requirements.
Implement rigorous quality control measures and design review procedures to mitigate risks and enhance project outcomes.
Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for MEP systems, ensuring alignment with client expectations and market conditions.
Apply value engineering principles to optimize design solutions and achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
Utilize advanced estimation tools and methodologies to analyze project costs, manage contingencies, and optimize resource utilization.
Coordinate with procurement and project management teams to streamline the transition from design to construction.
Work closely with other department (e.g., architectural, structural, and construction management) to ensure integrated project delivery.
Facilitate regular interdisciplinary meetings to review project progress, resolve technical issues, and adjust plans as necessary.
Cultivate strong relationships with external consultants, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Drive initiatives aimed at process improvement, leveraging the latest software, simulation tools, and industry best practices.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Lead research and development efforts to introduce innovative MEP solutions that enhance performance, sustainability, and value
