KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Manage the customs clearance process for imported chemicals, veterinary products, and related items in compliance with local laws and regulations.
•Coordinate with customs authorities to obtain necessary permits, clearances, and documentation for smooth importation of goods.
•Ensure accurate and timely submission of required customs documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and import/export permits.
•Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to track shipments and provide timely updates on clearance status.
•Verify customs duties, taxes, and fees associated with imported goods, ensuring accurate payments and adherence to financial guidelines.
•Resolve any customs-related discrepancies, challenges, or delays that may arise during the clearance process.
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures to facilitate compliance and avoid potential penalties.
•Assist in resolving any disputes or appeals related to customs assessments, classifications, or valuations.
•Maintain organized records of all customs documentation, ensuring accessibility for audits and record-keeping purposes.
•Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that imported goods align with the organization's procurement policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•5+ years of experience in customs clearance and import/export operations, particularly with chemicals and veterinary products.
•Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
•Proficiency in Arabic, English and Portuguese. French is a plus.
•Proficiency in customs procedures
