Job Overview – Chief Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to oversee the company’s accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations. The successful candidate will supervise daily accounting activities, manage financial records, oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, and support management in financial planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Monitor cash flow, company expenses, and financial transactions.

Ensure accurate payroll accounting and reconciliation with HR records.

Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and accounting standards.

Coordinate tax declarations, social security contributions, and other statutory payments with the relevant departments and authorities.

Supervise the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.

Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.

Monitor inventory valuation, stock movements, and cost of goods sold, where applicable.

Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and relevant authorities.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks.

Supervise and guide the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.

Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a senior accounting or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred: Experience in retail, inventory management, and multi-branch accounting operations
