Communications & Knowledge Management Specialist

Cewas is looking for a Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist preferably based in Lebanon for its WE4F program activities in the MENA region.


We are looking for a Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist to join the Cewas team to lead WE4F’s programmatic communications and knowledge management activities with a dedication to WE4F’s MENA and Iraq tracks. Your tasks will range from editorial planning and preparing content for our social media channels, via interviewing and gathering information on our innovators, to organizing events and effective knowledge collection and transfer. You will be responsible for implementing our CKM strategy to attract innovators and ecosystem players, and are in charge of the design, planning and implementation of processes and tools that allow to provide an up-to-date knowledge base to the RIH team and innovators.

You will work with a multidimensional, decentralized team based across Lebanon, Iraq, Switzerland, Germany, France, Egypt, and Jordan. Our partnerships and enabling environment manager (based in Jordan) and our CKM officer (based in Lebanon) will be supporting and back-stopping you.


More concretely you will:

  • Oversee development and implementation communication and knowledge management strategies to recruit and engage innovators and the relevant public. Lead on a regional and Iraq level on the implementation of communication and knowledge management activities, including copywriting/copyediting, production of knowledge pieces, social media, website management, etc.
  • Facilitate exposure of the WE4F innovators in the region through online and offline content development, including website, relevant platforms (incl. consortium partners’ channels) and networks, and social media.
  • Lead on annual reporting and report monthly on CKM-related achievements.
  • Network in the environmental and innovation ecosystem to develop and strengthen partnerships for the implementation and anchorage of the program.
  • Engage partners and lead on capacity building activities by organizing and co-facilitating trainings and related events (together with other team members), including logistics, outreach, concept development and co-facilitation. Update the WE4F Event tracker and provide support to other hub team members for their event attendance, and/or join events to collect content.
  • Plan and implement a series of site visits to key countries to meet, interview and gather footage of innovators and their end-users. Develop a work package to process the content in video and other formats.
  • Revisit and refine CRM, utilize the WE4F network to share learnings and best practices gathered throughout the duration of the program.
  • Regularly link up with hub team, WE4F Secretariat and USAID CKM counterpart to align on strategy and priorities and participate in regular calls with other WE4F Regional Innovation Hub CKM teams.
  • Support WE4F hub team and Secretariat in execution of the global Annual Convening in November 2024 (exact dates and location tbc).
  • Support WE4F staff in general activities of the program.

Skills

  • Experience in entrepreneurship and/or agricultural-adjacent fields (climate change, sustainable development)
  • Proven social media and communications skills, ideally with agency experience and/or a track record in building and running communication strategies, social media channels, website management or similar.
  • Familiar with all relevant social media platforms and content creation tools, with experience in designing visual content, including videos.
  • Content and concept development skills, especially on WEF topics. Sound understanding of online and offline learning and teaching methods and tools.
  • Previous experience organizing events, trainings and workshops. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Natural project manager, with effective time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Proactive and able to work independently.


Other requirements:

  • Outstanding Arabic and English skills (written and spoken) are a pre-requisite. Kurdish, French, and other regionally relevant languages are an advantage.
  • Ideally living in Lebanon, with an existing network in the environmental, agricultural and/or business sector in the MENA region. Ideally familiar with operating in politically sensitive environments and ideally within larger consortia.
