About the Role:

Our esteemed client is pursuing a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the critical position of Offshore Flooding and Stormwater Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and mitigating flooding and stormwater risks for developments, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate project requirements and assess flooding and stormwater management needs for Australian developments.
  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to determine potential flooding scenarios and impacts.
  • Design and implement effective stormwater drainage systems.
  • Develop flood risk management strategies and mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate flooding and stormwater solutions into overall project designs.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders on flooding and stormwater issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review site inspections, photos, recordings and provide input during project implementation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to flooding and stormwater management.
  • Use various programs to conduct assessments such as DRAINS, TUFLOW, QGIS, MUSIC and other programs supplied by the company.
  • Create new calculators using Excel to streamline design processes.


Key Requirements                                                               

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in English and literature.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian standards and regulations related to flooding and stormwater management.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater engineering, preferably in the offshore industry.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., TUFLOW, DRAINS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS, MIKE Flood) and GIS tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
