Job Summary:

The Protection Data Administrator is responsible for processing data collected by the ICRC to support its activities on behalf of people entitled to ICRC protection & assistance. He/she contributes to the implementation of policies, rules and procedures in the field of Protection data management to support Protection operational activities, decision-making through data processing and provides support for information analysis.

Objectives and Tasks:

  • In charge of entering and processing data in various databases and tools (Prot6, Resolve, etc), based on different forms, cards, messages, tables, etc.
  • Understands and applies the data entry procedures of the different tools used (Prot6, Resolve, etc).
  • Understands the individual follow-up process of the main categories of beneficiaries and, through the reading of their full history or individual file, reports proactively any identified discrepancy or delay to the Deputy Protection Coordinator in Charge of Data.
  • Controls, corrects and completes the data input made by the delegates and the field officers according to the data entry procedures.
  • Carries out data corrections under the supervision and/or the request of the Deputy Protection Coordinator in Charge of Data.
  • Updates the paper filing with all relevant documents (individual files, reference files, registrations cards, etc.); creates the individual files for the new beneficiaries; and attaches electronic documents to Prot6 and/or Team space according to the procedures.
  • Processes the Protection Archive documents to send to Geneva.
  • Carries out office work such as scanning, photocopying, filing, etc.
  • Contributes to the protection and security of individuals’ personal data.
  • May be asked to translate forms and data from the local language to English and vice versa.
  • Carries out basic data analysis upon the Deputy Protection Coordinator in Charge of Data’s request.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internally:

  • Liaises with delegates and field officers for clarification of unclear data related to individual follow-ups.
  • Provide advice in relation to data entry, data entry procedures, data collection and workflows to the Protection team.
  • Informs the Deputy Protection Coordinator in Charge of Data of any dysfunctions in the daily work and report any technical errors on the database.
  • Has a proactive approach and participates in a constructive dialogue in the department (shares propositions, difficulties, experiences, constraints).

Externally:

·      May interact with counterparts in National Societies, external stakeholders and beneficiaries.

  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line manager.
  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.

  • Assists, upon request, with other tasks not specifically mentioned in this Job Description.
  • Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image
  • Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.

Job Details:

Job Location: Beirut

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm

Salary Package: USD 1'570 – 2'641 (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).

Passing grade: 60/100

Highest 5 graded-succeeding candidates to be considered for the interview

2.Interview 50%

Total average weighted score will identify the candidate selected for the position.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Years of experience required: 2 years previous experience with databases and data management (specialized software).

Level of education: Bachelor’s degree.

Field of education: Information-management background or any relevant field.

Languages: Arabic (Native) English (Professional working) French (Limited working).

Computer Literacy: Advanced.
