Job Summary:

The Protection Data Administrator carries out data processing of information on people entitled to protection & assistance under international humanitarian law using specialized case-management software, in order to ensure the work of the Protection department is managed efficiently and effectively in line with established guidelines. S/He is responsible for the data comprehensive support on the Protection file and overall support to the Data Team Office.

Context:

The Syria Protection Support Office works closely with the Protection colleagues in Syria for the implementation of all protection activities (detention, protection of the civilian population, protection of family links, forensics), in the framework of priorities, objectives and strategies set by the Protection Department in Syria.

Objectives and Tasks:

Under the supervision of the Data Manager for Syria Protection Support in Beirut:

  • Data Administration in the Protection database of Syria,
  • Ensure coherence of data; analyze the data both in the database and information available in the individual files, propose solutions and/or report to the Data Manager any discrepancies that need particular follow-up.
  • Follow-up with delegates for incomplete or incorrect information linked to data collection in liaison with the Data Manager.
  • Cross check information in the database and report all double identities to the Data Manager for merging.
  • Contributes actively to the daily organization of the Protection office.
  • Contributes to the protection and security of individuals’ personal data.
  • Provides analytics on protection activities for external reporting.
  • Participate in correction of the database when needed under the supervision of the Data Manager.
  • Understand, put into application, and contribute to the revision of the Data Entry procedures.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internally:

  • Liaise with delegates and field officers through proper communication channels
  • Tools for clarification of unclear data related to individual follow-ups.
  • Share information that might be of interest for the rest of the team.
  • Inform the Data Managers of any dysfunctions in the daily work and report any technical errors in Prot6.
  • Have a proactive approach and participates in a constructive dialogue in the department (shares propositions, difficulties, experiences, constraints).
  • Coach/accompany new Data Administrators.
  • Be aware of the sensitivity/confidentially of the individual data handled within the organization.

  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Job Details:

Job Location: Beirut

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5 pm

Salary Package: USD 1’570 – 2’641(As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).

Total average weighted score will identify the candidate selected for the position.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Years of experience required: 2-3 years of experience in Information Management, Data management, Data Analysis.

Previous experience with databases and data management (specialized software).

Level of education: Bachelor’s degree

Field of education: Information Management, Administration, System Administration, Data Analysis.

Languages: Arabic (Native) English (Full Professional working). French is an asset.

Computer Literacy: Advanced

Additional Requirements

Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Skype, …), Data management, SQL, Report builder, programming languages an asset.
