Background
The Jordan Tourism Board Activity (JTBA) is a three-year, $16.2 million program funded by USAID, with the primary goal to strengthen Jordan’s tourism sector through support to the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB). JTBA will enhance JTB’s efforts to strategically position and promote Jordan as a distinctive destination. Further, the JTBA will increase domestic and international tourism to primary and secondary sites, boosting the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and enabling economic growth and job creation across the tourism value chain. The program will achieve its objectives in close coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) and local and international partners. The project is implemented by SEGURA Consulting with support from international and local subcontractors.
Position Description
The Driver and Logistics Assistant will operate and maintain project vehicles, in addition to performing ad hoc tasks to support project logistics and operations. The Driver and Logistics Assistant reports to the Director of Finance and Operations and Office Manager, who shall be responsible for coordinating his/her assignments and supervising his/her work.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Drive project vehicle(s) daily as assigned and/or pre-approved by supervisor, including routing shuttle service runs, scheduled field trips, project-related transportation within Amman and other cities, and other driving assignments as required.
- Clean assigned vehicles daily both inside and out.
- Check assigned vehicles weekly to ensure that they are operational and safe to drive, including oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluids, wipers, tires, lights, and signals.
- Initiate and supervise routine periodic maintenance and repairs of assigned project vehicles, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and professional cleaning by high-pressure hose based on the manufacturer’s instructions on optimum maintenance requirements.
- Fulfill project reporting requirements and maintain records on vehicle mileage and routing, vehicle condition, etc.
- Be capable of managing the delivery of project correspondence to official entities and utilities services and following up on it
- Ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws and driving carefully.
- Expedite any project request necessary to facilitate the running of the office.
- Move office furniture as needed.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of program supplies as needed.
- Responsible for cash advance handling for minor logistics procurements and small purchases for the office
- Support technical team in all logistics arrangements needed in events/workshops.
- Any other duties, as assigned by the supervisor and his/her designers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A valid driver’s license required.
- A clean driving record and understanding of auto mechanics required.
- Minimum three years of experience. Working in a donor funded project is preferred.
- Good physical health required.
- Availability for overtime work and field travel is necessary.
- Proficient English is strongly preferred
Education and/or Experience
- High School certificate required.

Location
