(Junior) Actuarial Analyst

GlobeMed Group, the largest Healthcare Benefits Management Company in the MENA region is looking for a (Junior) Actuarial Analyst to support GlobeMed's clients with a range of actuarial and statistical services such as product design and pricing, rating and rate modifications, actuarial monitoring and reporting, reinsurance support, early warning systems and health-related studies and bulletins to ensure insurers and reinsurers’ profitability and solvency.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops new products and actuarial variations and sets adequate rates to fulfill market needs.
Quotes for new groups to ensure that proper rates are offered, in line with benefits and networks.
Calculates merited net risk premiums for renewal business by applying experience rating and credibility formula to assist the insurance companies in the renewal process and to provide the reinsurer with the merited rates to be included in the booked versus merited report.
Assists insurance companies in setting reserves to ensure their ability to meet future liabilities.
Works closely with the underwriting & production unit to set actuarial variations, ratemaking relativities and matrix of specific exclusions and limitations to standard products to be implemented on the Policy Production and Pricing tool.
Assesses the rate change through actuarial indications studies to monitor the portfolio performance and to correct for any inadequacy in rating.
Produces cost impact studies on providers’ tariff changes to include them in the actuarial indications studies for rate changes.
Modifies In-force products on need basis to fulfill clients and market needs.
Provides portfolio analysis reports and performance reports to clients to serve as a monitoring tool and early warning system.
Produces actuarial annual reports to provide the reinsurers and insurers with an actuarial analysis of their entire portfolio’s experience.
Estimates Incurred but not Reported provisions (IBNR) and monitors them periodically to be implemented on the system and incorporated in system reports and studies.
Conducts health related studies and produces Bulletins to shed the light on developing subjects and topics affecting the health cost.
Automates reports using SAS and visual basic tools to insurers’ and reinsurers’ reporting requirements.
Assists the medical units in their disease management studies by providing them with the required statistics and analysis.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial sciences or closed related fields
1-4 years of experience
Prepares for actuarial exams
Willing to pursue further actuarial examinations and getting qualified designations
Good communication skills in English and Arabic, French is a plus
Computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills, SAS is an asset.
Willing to learn and master advanced software
Ability to work in a team and to share and convey knowledge to others
Ability to cope with changing circumstances, workloads under pressure and to meet deadlines
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
