Our organization is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Odoo Accountant to manage all aspects of our financial operations within the Odoo platform. This individual will leverage their in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, Odoo functionalities, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure financial accuracy, adherence to best practices, and optimal utilization of the system's capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Assume primary responsibility for the organization's accounting functions within Odoo, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, consolidation (if applicable), and year-end closing procedures.
Collaborate in the definition, documentation, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures aligned with IFRS best practices.
Configure and customize Odoo modules to streamline accounting processes, cater to the specific needs of the organization, and facilitate consolidation (if applicable).
Utilize advanced Odoo features to achieve the following:
Bank Reconciliation: Ensure seamless integration between bank statements and Odoo data for accurate record-keeping.
Budgeting: Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, monitor variances, and provide insightful financial forecasts.
Weekly Book Closing: Perform efficient and accurate weekly book closing procedures to maintain up-to-date financial records.
Landed Costs: Manage complex landed cost calculations, ensuring precise costing of imported goods.
Average Costing: Implement and maintain average costing methods for inventory valuation.
Cost Control: Analyze cost data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize spending.
Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
Safeguard the integrity of financial data by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established accounting standards and IFRS best practices.
Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial reports, including consolidated financial statements (if applicable), balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Foster collaboration with other departments (e.g., sales, purchasing) to ensure smooth financial transactions within Odoo.
Maintain a proactive approach to staying current on the latest Odoo accounting features, IFRS pronouncements, and best practices.
Implement and uphold robust internal controls to safeguard financial data and mitigate risk.
Provide comprehensive documentation and support during external audits.
Qualifications:
A minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrably successful hands-on experience with Odoo accounting modules.
In-depth knowledge and expertise in accounting principles, established practices (GAAP, IFRS), and consolidation procedures (if applicable).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A meticulous approach to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
Prior experience with bank reconciliations, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow forecasting, and year-end closing procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
A demonstrable understanding of established audit best practices and IFRS.
