Communication Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Communication Manager to lead our NGO's communication efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies that effectively communicate our mission, programs, and impact to various stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the NGO’s mission and goals.
- Create and manage content for various platforms, including the NGO’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and press releases.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts to ensure positive coverage of the NGO’s activities and initiatives.
- Coordinate internal communications to ensure staff and volunteers are informed and engaged.
- Organize and manage events such as press conferences, community outreach programs, and fundraising events.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, making adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with program managers to gather stories, data, and insights for compelling communication materials.
- Handle crisis communications and provide timely and appropriate responses to any issues that arise.
- Maintain and enhance the NGO’s digital presence, ensuring content is current, engaging, and accurately reflects the organization’s work.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within the nonprofit or NGO sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Proven experience in managing media relations and digital communication strategies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in the nonprofit or NGO sector.
- Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia software.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Experience with fundraising and donor communication strategies.
