Position Title: Alumni and Career Orientation Officer

Position Summary:
The Alumni and Career Orientation Officer is responsible for developing and implementing programs and services to assist alumni and students in their career development and job placement. This position also involves maintaining relationships with alumni, employers, and the institution to enhance career opportunities and alumni engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Career Services:
o Develop and deliver career counseling and guidance services to students and alumni.
o Organize and conduct career workshops, seminars, and job fairs.
o Assist students and alumni with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
o Provide information on job market trends and employment opportunities.
o Facilitate internships, co-op programs, and job placements.

2. Alumni Relations:
o Develop and maintain a comprehensive alumni database.
o Plan and execute alumni events, including reunions, networking events, and recognition ceremonies.
o Foster relationships with alumni to encourage their involvement in mentoring, guest speaking, and other support activities.
o Coordinate alumni communications through newsletters, social media, and the institution's website.
o Engage alumni in fundraising and development activities.

3. Employer Engagement:
o Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and international employers.
o Develop partnerships with organizations to create job and internship opportunities for students and alumni.
o Organize employer visits, career fairs, and on-campus recruitment activities.
o Keep abreast of industry trends and employer needs to inform program development.

4. Program Development:
o Assess the career and professional development needs of students and alumni.
o Develop and implement new career services and alumni programs based on feedback and assessment data.
o Collaborate with academic departments and other campus offices to integrate career development into the curriculum and student experience.

5. Administration and Reporting:
o Prepare and manage the budget for alumni and career services programs.
o Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities and outcomes.
o Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services and make recommendations for improvement.
o Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in career services, alumni relations, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in event planning and program development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using social media platforms.
• Knowledge of current trends in career services and alumni relations.
