Job purpose summary:
Ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems essential to production – focusing on maintaining equipment reliability, supporting production targets, and adhering to safety standards within the manufacturing environment.
Required skills & qualifications:
*High school/technical diploma or equivalent
*2-3 years of experience as a mechanical technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the F&B industry
*Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
*Familiarity with maintenance practices, & preventive maintenance programs.
*Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to industrial environments.
Duties & responsibilities:
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment such as conveyors, packaging machines, pumps, mixers, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including equipment failures and malfunctions, and implement corrective actions promptly to minimize downtime.
• Assist in the installation, assembly, and alignment of new machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Conduct equipment calibrations and adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency in production processes.
• Adhere to safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Participate in safety inspections, hazard assessments, and training programs to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritize work orders, and resolve technical issues affecting production efficiency.
• Provide technical support during production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption.
