Network Engineer– OLT & PON Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer specializing in Optical Line Termination (OLT) and Passive Optical Networks (PON) technologies, including XGS-PON and GPON. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and managing cutting-edge optical network architectures to ensure high-performance connectivity for large-scale implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Design: Develop and design network architectures incorporating SWAP OLT and XGS-PON technologies to ensure efficient and scalable network deployments.
  • Deployment and Configuration: Deploy and configure OLTs, Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), and related optical networking equipment.
  • Network Management: Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of PON systems to ensure the smooth operation of optical networks.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support in the implementation of GPON, XGS-PON, and DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technologies.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to optical network performance, and optimize network designs to meet the demands of large-scale deployments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers and field engineers to ensure network designs meet both customer needs and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on OLT and PON technologies.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of optical networking principles and protocols (GPON, XGS-PON).
  • Optical Technologies: Hands-on experience with DWDM and other advanced optical technologies.
  • Large-Scale Deployment: Proven experience in deploying and managing large-scale optical networks.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SWAP OLT technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
