Sofregaz hires an Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, in order to strengthen its teams and take part in international projects for the design of LNG and gas facilities, ranging for feasibility studies to FEED and detailed design. Integrated to a multi-disciplinary team in Beirut, he/she will work on design activities jointly with Sofregaz team in Paris. Prior experience on industrial projects is a must.

The engineer shall perform the following tasks:
• Preparation of specifications, data sheets and other documents to select the suppliers for rotating machinery, packages and static equipment of the project,
• Preparation of technical bid tabulations of supplier bids,
• Review and commenting, liaising with the other disciplines, the supplier documentation,
• Interface with suppliers, and focal point for other disciplines with suppliers,
• Bring and capitalize a knowledge of the technical solutions proposed by suppliers and developed on projects.

He/she will also hold the position of Discipline Leader on selected projects. In this position, he/she shall perform the following tasks:

• Team work with the other project disciplines, under the responsibilities of the Project Manager,
• Definition of major technical choices for the discipline on the project,
• Application of project design philosophies and company procedures in the design,
• Attendance to 3D model reviews to validate the conformity of the 3D model with the technical requirements of the discipline,
• Preparation of scope of works for engineering subcontracts,
• Supervision of engineering subcontracts,
• Responsibility for quality / planning / budget for the activities performed by the discipline on the project.

Desired profile:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a major in Mechanical Engineering,
• Experience in Engineering Design for Industrial projects (Oil & Gas, power generation, water treatment, etc) is a must,
• Knowledge of the Oil & Gas field is a plus,
• Autonomous, dynamic and reactive,
• Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of French and/or a third language can be a plus,
• He / she is available for business trips to Paris offices or to other projects-related locations
