A construction company in Jbeil is seeking a well experienced Chief Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
Ensure financial statements comply with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely closing of accounts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
Monitor and analyze actual results against budget, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
Participate in strategic financial planning and advise management on potential cost-saving measures.
Tax Compliance:
Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, corporate tax, etc.).
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Cash Flow & Asset Management:
Manage cash flow to ensure the company meets its financial obligations.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable to maintain healthy cash flow levels.
Monitor company assets, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, standards, and company policies.
Regularly review and update accounting procedures to maintain high operational standards.
Team Management:
Lead and supervise the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and evaluate team members to ensure efficient accounting operations.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
Audit & External Relations:
Coordinate and manage external audits, providing auditors with the necessary documentation and support.
Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and the implementation of recommendations.
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, tax authorities, and auditors.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus).
Experience: More than 5 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2–3 years in a leadership or senior accounting role
