Objective
Your role as Risk Manager is to identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the financial institution's operations. your role plays a crucial part in safeguarding the organization's financial stability and reputation by developing and implementing effective risk management strategies and policies.
Main Tasks
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to the financial institution.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize exposure to financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Work closely with senior management to establish risk tolerance and risk appetite guidelines.
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and adjust strategies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee the credit risk management process, including credit underwriting, monitoring, and collection activities.
- Establish credit risk limits and policies, and continuously evaluate and adjust them as necessary.
- Identify and assess operational risks, including fraud, internal processes, and technology failures.
- Implement controls and procedures to mitigate operational risks and ensure business continuity.
- Prepare regular risk reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
- Ensure effective communication of risk-related information throughout the organization.
- Leverage advanced risk assessment tools and technologies to enhance risk management processes and analytics.
- Develop and maintain an incident response plan to address unforeseen crises and minimize their impact on the institution.
- Evaluate and manage risks associated with third-party vendors and service providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, or similar) preferred.
- Lebanese Financial Regulations, Banking Ethics, Bank Credit and Risk in Financial Services Certificates.
- 8+ years of experience in a Risk Management role preferably in payments & financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of digital financial products and services.
- Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to operational risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
