IC is looking for a Nurse to join its Ain Aar campus on a Full Time basis under a Staff Employment Agreement.
Job Summary:
The School Nurse oversees all school health policies and programs, provides expertise and oversight of school health services, and promotes health education. He/she advocates for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of students by providing healthcare to students and staff, performing health screenings, and coordinating referrals to private healthcare providers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide health care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in the school infirmary.
· Maintain accurate, detailed reports and medical records.
· Use and maintain the medical information system and student database.
· Conduct specified laboratory tests.
· Observe students for development and health patterns and identify abnormal health findings.
· Develop and implement a student health plan.
· Interpret the health status of students to parents and school personnel.
· Provide ongoing health counseling with students, parents, and school personnel.
· Develop procedures and provides for emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses.
· Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases.
· Provide direct health education and health counseling to assist students and parents in making decisions on health and lifestyles that affect health.
· Serve as a resource person to the school staff members in health instruction.
· Prepare and conduct educational presentations for students at all levels, as requested by the school directors.
· Consult with institutions or associations regarding medical issues of concerns to the school.
· Perform other job-related tasks as required by the Director.
Educational Requirements and Competencies:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an approved nursing program.
· Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience, preferably dealing with school age kids.
· Valid nursing license.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Courteous and flexible.
· Projecting a positive attitude and a professional demeanor.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Able to deliver under pressure and perform in a fast-paced environment.
· Discreet and able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
· Ability to explain treatments and conditions to children of all ages.
· Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations.
