Job Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. The CFO will manage all aspects of financial strategy, accounting, and compliance with Lebanese tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance, strong knowledge of Lebanese accounting standards, tax laws, and corporate governance practices. They will play a critical role in driving the company’s financial success and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the company’s overall business goals.
- Provide financial forecasts and prepare financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor the company’s financial performance by analyzing financial data and trends.
2.Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Oversee all accounting functions, ensuring adherence to Lebanese accounting standards (IFRS) and company policies.
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
- Manage and ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
3.Tax Compliance & Legal Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with all Lebanese tax laws, including VAT, income tax, and social security contributions.
- Stay up to date with changes in Lebanese financial regulations and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other financial institutions.
4.Financial Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the financial health of the company.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and credit facilities to ensure liquidity and effective capital management.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
5.Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Oversee the preparation and management of the company’s annual budget and monitor performance against it.
- Analyze and control costs, ensuring cost-effective operations and identifying opportunities for cost reductions.
6.Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage the finance department, including accountants and financial analysts.
- Mentor and develop financial team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure proper financial management across the organization.
7.Strategic Partnerships & Business Development:
- Provide financial insights to assist in strategic decision-making, mergers, acquisitions, and other business development activities.
- Develop relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to secure financing for the company.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree is preferred).
- Professional Certification: CPA, CMA, or CFA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 15-20 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a CFO role, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Lebanese Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Lebanese accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, Excel, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (French is a plus).
Work Conditions:
- Location: Based in Lebanon.
- Reporting: Directly reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Working Hours: Full-time position with occasional travel required for meetings or audits.
