Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Sales Representative – Raw Materials (Paints & Coatings) to join our team. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and sales acumen to drive revenue growth and provide exceptional customer support. The successful candidate will leverage their deep knowledge of paints and coatings, raw materials, application processes, and industry trends to build strong client relationships, deliver innovative solutions, and exceed sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the paint and coatings sector.
- Build, maintain and expand relationships with new and existing customers by understanding their requirements and presenting suitable raw material solutions.
- Meet and exceed sales targets by promoting the company's products and services.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals to clients.
Technical Expertise & Support:
- Serve as a technical expert for the company’s paints and coatings products, offering application and troubleshooting guidance to customers.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their specific needs and recommend product solutions.
- Conduct on-site product demonstrations and technical support for clients.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify market needs and opportunities.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with internal teams to align customer requirements with product development.
- Provide feedback from the field to support product innovation and improvement.
- Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and records using CRM software.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in technical sales, preferably within the raw materials sector for the paint and coatings industry.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of raw materials used in paint formulations, including resins, pigments, additives, and solvents.
- Sales Expertise: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze customer challenges and propose effective technical solutions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
