Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage and oversee critical shipping and regulatory processes. The ideal candidate will handle shipping documentation, liaise with government and ministry authorities for approvals, and collaborate with shipping companies to ensure smooth and efficient transportation of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping Documentation Management
- Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, certificates of origin, and packing lists.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and related documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
Government and Ministry Approvals
- Act as the primary liaison with relevant ministries and government authorities for obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Stay updated on changes to regulations affecting imports, exports, and logistics operations.
- Ensure timely submission of applications and follow up to avoid delays in shipments.
Shipping Coordination
- Work closely with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Negotiate shipping rates, terms, and schedules to optimize logistics costs.
- Monitor shipments to ensure they are delivered on time and address any issues or delays promptly.
Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with internal departments such as procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with business needs.
- Provide regular updates on shipping status to necessary departments.
- Report and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to shipping or customs processes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or a similar role, preferably in industries dealing with raw materials or international trade.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of shipping documentation and international trade compliance.
- Familiarity with government and ministry approval processes for imports/exports.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working with shipping companies and freight forwarders.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in logistics software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and regulations is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic language.
