Senior Accountant

Location: jnah

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role involves advanced accounting functions, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing reconciliations, and assisting with audits and tax compliance.

*Key Responsibilities:*

1. *Financial Reporting:*
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with other regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

2. *General Ledger Management:*
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accountants.

3. Account Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.

4. Audit Support:
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations as required by auditors.

5. Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance.

6. Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and internal controls.
- Implement best practices for the finance team.

7.Collaboration:
- Liaise with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Work collaboratively with management to support financial decision-making.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
