This is a unique opportunity for a visionary professional to drive growth in industrial, retail, and oil and gas sectors, leveraging STE’s robust product portfolio, including plumbing materials, pumps, and industrial products.
Success in this role could lead to a transition into the General Manager position, overseeing the full operations of STE and spearheading its growth to achieve a multi-million annual turnover within five years.
Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will lead STE’s efforts to re-establish itself as a market leader, with a focus on three key areas:
Expanding market share in Lebanon’s industrial sector.
Rebuilding strong relationships with retailers to regain its dominant position in the wholesale plumbing materials and pumps market.
Developing opportunities in the oil and gas sector
by promoting STE’s products, including pumps, valves, pipes, and fittings.
The successful candidate will implement a comprehensive growth strategy, aiming to restore STE’s reputation and profitability across all key sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Growth
Develop and execute a robust business development strategy targeting the industrial, retail, and oil and gas sectors.
Identify and secure partnerships with wholesalers, contractors, consultants, retailers, and key players in the industry
Position STE as a trusted provider of pumps, plumbing materials, and industrial products, offering high-quality solutions tailored to client needs.
Monitor market trends, identify growth opportunities, and adapt strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Retail Sector Revival
Rebuild relationships with retailers to re-establish STE’s dominant position in Lebanon’s wholesale plumbing and pumps market.
Work closely with retail partners to introduce innovative sales strategies and marketing initiatives that enhance product visibility and drive sales.
Expand the product range for retailers, ensuring their specific needs for pumps, valves, and fittings are met with premium solutions.
Industrial & Oil & Gas Sector Development
Leverage STE’s expertise in pumps, pipes, valves, and fittings to secure contracts and projects in Lebanon’s industrial and oil and gas sectors.
Develop tailored strategies for industrial and oil and gas clients, focusing on infrastructure and project-specific requirements.
Stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends to identify opportunities for STE’s product offerings.
Sales Leadership
Build, lead, and train a high-performing sales team to ensure sustained revenue growth across all sectors.
Establish and monitor clear sales targets and metrics for the team, aligned with the company’s 5-year growth objectives.
Negotiate and close contracts with key clients, ensuring profitability and long-term relationships.
Operational Excellence
Collaborate with the CEO to optimize supply chain and inventory management for plumbing materials, pumps, and industrial products.
Implement modern sales and marketing tools, including CRM systems, to enhance operational efficiency and customer engagement.
Monitor financial performance, control costs, and ensure profitability across all business lines.
Strategic Leadership
Evaluate and address operational inefficiencies to position STE for long-term growth and sustainability.
Collaborate with senior leadership to design and execute a long-term strategic vision for STE’s success.
Demonstrate leadership and deliver measurable results, positioning the candidate for potential promotion to General Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in business development, sales management, or general management, with experience in plumbing materials, pumps, industrial products, or oil and gas sectors.
Engineering experience is a plus
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the plumbing materials, pumps, wholesale retail, industrial, and oil and gas markets in Lebanon.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams and achieving ambitious sales targets.
Strategic Vision: Strong ability to craft and execute comprehensive growth strategies across multiple sectors.
Relationship Building: Excellent networking, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
