The Service Mechanical Technician in a furniture manufacturing company is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment used in the production process. This includes woodworking machinery, upholstery tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems. The technician ensures that all mechanical components function efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.

Key Responsibilities:



1.Equipment Maintenace & Repair

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems, including saws, drills, CNC machines, lathes, presses, and sanding machines.
Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, hydraulic presses, pneumatic tools, and conveyor belts.
Identify and replace faulty components such as bearings, gears, seals, and drive belts.
Ensure all furniture manufacturing equipment operates safely and efficiently.
2.Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving

Quickly respond to mechanical breakdowns to minimize production delays.
Use diagnostic tools to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
Work closely with production staff to understand recurring mechanical issues and resolve them proactively.
3.Installation & Calibration

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Ensure proper alignment and calibration of cutting, shaping, and finishing machines for precision and quality.
Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and product output.
4.Safety & Compliance

Adhere to all workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and safety checks.
5.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Work closely with other departments, including carpentry, upholstery, paint, and assembly, to ensure seamless operations.
Suggest improvements to maintenance procedures to enhance equipment efficiency and longevity.
Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in furniture manufacturing technology.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: certification in Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a furniture manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, CNC machines, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in reading mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Experience with welding, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Good communication and time management skills.
