Job Summary:
This role involves ensuring all electrical work complies with safety standards and local codes, troubleshooting electrical issues, and guiding team members in proper installation and maintenance practices. The Electrician plays a key role in maintaining operational safety and efficiency across all electrical systems within the gas infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• A Technical Certification from an accredited institute
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Needs to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• Must be able to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
• Must use controlled mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes not including computers or vehicles.
• Must observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources before starting a project.
• Performs physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
