General Services Supervisor

  • Informs the General Services Manager about any problem or accident and take corrective action.
  • Carries out monitoring rounds of all the Hospital areas to ensure general cleanliness of patients’ rooms and other areas according to pre-established procedures. Takes proper action to ensure resolution of defects and problems.
  • Supervises and tutors the general services staff making sure that they are operating as per hospital standards.
  • Monitors performance of staff with performance evaluations and make recommendation of training, in addition to abiding by the occupational health and safety measures.
  • Prepares in coordination with the Supervisors of the sub-departments a work schedule for the employees and to present it to the General Services Manager.
  • Supervises directly the laundry and operation, delivers a clean linen up to standards, and ensures a proper sorting of linen is implemented before washing.
  • Communicates with the outsourced companies regarding the staff attendance, their needs and their performance.
  • Maintains an equitable level of order, control and safety in the various hospital buildings, on the hospital grounds and at off-site locations.
  • Performs services with high level of quality according to hospital quality standards.
  • Conducts inventories of General Services Department, control PAR Levels of linen and ensure the continuous availability of all requested items, preventing stock ruptures in supplies.


Skills

  • BA Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory healthcare or hospitality position. Experience in Housekeeping & Laundry operations is a must.
  • Great communication skills. Effectively communicates upward, downward, and laterally.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, English and French.
