Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business in accordance with the company's underwriting framework and within delegated authority, including handling complex assignments.
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws, regulations, and rating rules.
- Collaborate closely with Line of Business representatives on referrals and evolving business needs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates within the underwriting team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to support business acquisition, client servicing, and account retention.
- Actively identify and pursue renewal and new business opportunities.
- Qualify accounts to align with the company's risk appetite and strategic business goals.
- Prepare thoroughly for broker and client meetings to drive effective discussions. - Negotiate terms and conditions, and close deals.
- Update systems with broker/client visit details and account status promptly.
- Serve as the key company contact for assigned target accounts.
- Measure exposures, assess risks, quote coverage, and establish terms and conditions.
- Manage account servicing, including declinations and cancellations, with professionalism.
- Provide technical underwriting advice and support to assist clients in improving their insurance programs and risk profiles.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with clients through regular interactions and follow-ups.
- Anticipate client needs, monitor market trends, and recommend enhancements to products, services, or processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferred in a relevant field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of marine insurance lines of business, along with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of time-sensitive requirements for quoting new and renewal business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Years of experience: 4-5 years
