Overview
The Product Line Manager – Power Tools is responsible for driving the strategic direction, commercial success, and lifecycle management of the power tools and machinery portfolio. The role involves defining product roadmaps, executing product launches, and supporting sales channels to achieve annual revenue and margin targets. This position requires strong market insight, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and manage the product roadmap for power tools and machinery in alignment with company strategy.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and growth areas through market research and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to influence product development and enhancements.
Sales & Business Development
- Sell power tools and machinery to wholesalers, distributors, and project contractors.
- Work closely with the sales team to drive market penetration and achieve yearly sales and margin targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts to expand business opportunities.
Product Launch & Marketing
- Lead product launch planning, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
- Coordinate with marketing to develop product collateral, promotional materials, and campaign support.
- Conduct product demonstrations and participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events.
Performance Analysis & Profitability
- Monitor product performance, pricing, and profitability across markets.
- Analyze sales data, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments to maximize revenue and margins.
- Develop strategies for product lifecycle management, including product introductions, updates, and discontinuations.
Competitive Intelligence
- Stay updated on competitor products, pricing, promotions, and market movements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to maintain competitive advantage.
Sales Support & Training
- Provide product training and technical support to sales teams, distributors, and contractors.
- Ensure sales teams have up-to-date product knowledge, features, and value propositions.
- Prepare product information guides, sales kits, and training materials.
Skills
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience in product management or product line management within the power tools or machinery industry.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience selling to wholesalers and project contractors.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and financial metrics.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
