Property Manager – Engineering

The Property Manager – Engineering is responsible for overseeing all technical, mechanical, electrical, and structural operations of the hotel. This role ensures the property is maintained at the highest 5-star standards, supports guest comfort and safety, and leads the engineering team in delivering efficient, proactive, and compliant maintenance services.

This is a key leadership position within the hotel’s operations, requiring strong technical expertise, managerial skills, and a service-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities
Property & Facility Management

Oversee the daily operation of all hotel mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Ensure all building systems function efficiently and safely according to international 5-star standards.

Manage preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and technical installations.

Conduct regular property inspections and implement corrective actions.

Ensure all safety, fire, and emergency systems are fully operational and regularly tested.

Team Leadership

Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering and maintenance staff.

Create duty schedules and assign daily tasks to ensure optimal workflow.

Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Budgeting & Planning

Prepare and manage the engineering department’s annual budget.

Monitor and control inventory, spare parts, and energy consumption.

Evaluate and coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure the hotel complies with all local regulations, safety codes, and environmental standards.

Oversee documentation related to permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.

Implement and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for engineering operations.

Project Management

Lead renovations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.

Review technical drawings, specifications, and proposals.

Ensure minimal disruption to guest experience during maintenance or construction work.

Guest Experience Support

Respond quickly to guest maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.

Collaborate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to maintain top-tier guest satisfaction.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management (luxury or 5-star environment preferred).

Strong technical proficiency in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Proven leadership and team-management skills.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.

Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and energy management.

Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak seasons or emergencies.

Flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call rotations.

Familiarity with local regulations and building codes in Lebanon is a plus
