The Barista ensures a warm, engaging, and efficient service experience for all gym members and visitors by greeting customers, preparing high-quality shakes and beverages, selling pre-prepared food items, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and managing stock control. This role combines customer interaction with product preparation, sales accuracy, and inventory management.
I. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Welcome each customer with a smile and eye contact, using their name whenever possible.
• Listen attentively to customer requests and clarify orders to ensure accuracy.
• Offer recommendations on shakes, snacks, and other available items.
• Handle customer questions or concerns politely, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
2. Prepare and serve shakes, beverages, and food items to quality standards
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
• Operate blenders, coffee machines, and other bar equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all prepared food and beverages meet hygiene and safety standards.
• Restock display areas with fresh pre-prepared food items as needed.
3. Sell prepared food items and process transactions accurately
• Display food and beverage items attractively to encourage sales.
• Process payments by cash, card, or digital methods while ensuring correct amounts.
• Issue receipts and record all transactions promptly in the POS system.
• Monitor product expiry dates and rotate stock to minimize waste.
4. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional bar area
• Keep all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the day.
• Organize bar tools, ingredients, and supplies for efficiency and ease of access.
• Dispose of waste according to the gym’s hygiene and safety standards.
• Ensure all food storage areas comply with health regulations.
5. Track inventory and conduct perpetual stocktakes
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients, beverages, packaging, and supplies daily.
• Record usage and wastage accurately in the inventory system.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and reconcile counts with recorded inventory.
• Report shortages, surpluses, or potential supply issues to management immediately.
II. Required Competencies:
