Job Title: Floor Supervisor – Housekeeping
Job Summary
The Floor Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, assigned floors, and hotel working areas are maintained in a clean, orderly, and welcoming condition in line with Portemilio’s operating standards. The role involves coordinating daily housekeeping operations, supervising Room Attendants and Floor Boys, and supporting the Housekeeping Manager to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth daily operation of the assigned floor
- Supervise Room Attendants and Floor Boys, monitoring performance and productivity
- Organize and oversee the room-making process
- Allocate daily room assignments and deep-cleaning tasks
- Ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, corridors, and heart-of-the-house areas
- Inspect occupied and departure rooms, with special attention to guest preferences and needs
- Ensure housekeeping operations comply with established standards and procedures
- Address guest requests promptly, including VIP amenities, and coordinate with relevant departments
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure rooms meet quality and brand standards
- Maintain knowledge of all room categories, layouts, and amenities
- Handle guest inquiries efficiently and ensure positive outcomes
- Manage lost and found procedures according to hotel policy
- Report maintenance and technical issues to the Engineering Department
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with staff training and development
- Represent housekeeping team needs in interdepartmental coordination
- Ensure compliance with hotel security, fire regulations, and health & safety legislation
- Maintain effective working relationships with all hotel departments
Prerequisites & Skills
- Friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times
- Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Basic computer operating skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise housekeeping teams
Education
- Three-year diploma or degree in Hotel Management or a related field
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience supervising or managing entry-level employees
- Proven experience in a similar role within an upscale hotel or resort environment
