Responsible for executing mold part and full mold designs, from spare parts to 3D and 2D drawings, in alignment with project requirements and company standards. The role includes managing BOMs, ensuring departmental approvals, and collaborating with QC, Planning, and Production. When assigned as project owner, the Designer leads all design-related meetings and ensures cross-departmental coordination throughout the design cycle. Otherwise, the role remains focused on execution and documentation.
Duties:
- Prepare and attend kick-off, system, and design meetings when assigned as project owner, to finalize 2D & 3D part designs and submit for approval to Team Leader.
- Implement required modifications and resubmit for approval; prepare initial mold layouts after client approval and obtain internal validation from team leader.
- Draw 3D mold designs, and complete 2D mold drawings incorporating GD&T standards and interdepartmental feedback.
- Prepare piece and runner circuits, collect machine and plastic data, build mold flow simulations, analyze results, and report findings to Team Leader.
- Modify or customize client molds (retrofitting) and coordinate approvals with Design Manager.
- Reverse-engineer spare parts: create 3D and 2D part designs, apply GD&T standards, and coordinate approvals with Team Leader.
- Create BOMs for Tool Steel and Mold Accessories, coordinate revisions with Planning, and forward final BOMs and bill lists to Team Leader for approval, then purchasing.
- Fill mold checklists, archive all documentation, prepare packing and spare part lists for Export, and prepare 2D electrode drawings.
- Submit daily reports and review feedback with Team Leader.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree or related technical field.
- Language: Excellent command of English both spoken and written.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mold designs.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Solid Works & AutoCAD. Proficient in report writing and analysis
