Summary of Position

The Senior Accountant plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the accounting department. They develop, maintain, and assess accounting systems to ensure they align with the department's objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer/Supplier Relations
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and employees to achieve company objectives and foster collaboration.
• Ensure timely payments to maintain credibility and strong partnerships.
Financial Transactions & Compliance
• Process expenses, bank charges, and review financial entries for errors or inconsistencies.
• Ensure compliance with local and corporate policies, regulations, and laws.
• Approve transactions within designated limits and manage accounts payable and weekly check runs.
Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and distribute financial statements, monthly P&L, and cost center reports.
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
• Provide insights into the company's financial position and projections.
Budgeting & Monthly Closures
• Assist with annual budgets and handle all allocations.
• Coordinate monthly closing processes and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Tax & Audit Compliance
• Manage tax obligations, ensuring timely filing and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial and operational audits.
Payroll & Employee Records
• Ensure timely processing of payroll and maintain accurate employee records, including social security registration.
• Develop and update Compensation & Benefits procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance.
Team Leadership & Transparency
• Coach and guide the team to ensure transparency and collaboration across the department.
• Foster a team-oriented environment to promote synergy and effective communication.
Financial Systems & Procedure Development
• Maintain accurate records of all company transactions and assets, ensuring proper system of accounts.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures, continuously improving efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities & Reporting
• Undertake responsibilities assigned by the Direct Supervisor.
• Prepare and distribute daily cash and bank situation reports as well as monthly payroll preparation reports.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulations and contribute to sustainability goals where applicable.
• Adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in all financial reporting and transactions.

Qualifications
• Have degree in Business or equivalent
• Have at least 3 years of experience in similar position
• Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.
