Role Overview
The Project Quantity Surveyor Consultant will be responsible for preparing, updating, and
managing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on issued engineering drawings and project
documentation. The role is head-office based and involves close coordination with site Quantity
Surveyors to collect, verify, and reconcile quantity, cost, and progress data throughout the project
lifecycle. This is a temporary consultancy role established specifically for the duration of the project
and does not constitute permanent or ongoing employment.
Key Responsibilities
BOQs & Quantity Management
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from approved IFC and updated engineering
drawings.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accurate quantity take-offs.
- Update BOQs to reflect design changes, revisions, and variations.
- Maintain version control and documentation of all BOQ updates.
Coordination with Site Teams
- Liaise with Site Quantity Surveyors to obtain site measurements and progress data.
- Verify site-reported quantities against drawings and contractual BOQs.
- Resolve discrepancies between site measurements and head-office records.
Cost & Commercial Support
- Assist in evaluating variations and re-measured quantities.
- Support interim payment valuations and quantity reconciliation.
- Provide quantity-based input for cost reports.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare periodic quantity summaries and reconciliation reports.
- Ensure BOQs comply with contract requirements and internal procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years experience in quantity surveying.
- Strong experience preparing BOQs from engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity take-off tools.
Consultancy Nature of the Role
This position is a project-specific consultancy engagement for a fixed duration of approximately 10
months, aligned with the project completion timeline. The consultant will operate under a
consultancy agreement and will not be considered a permanent employee
