Job Summary
The Pastry Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily pastry shop operations while ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. This role supervises production staff, monitors product quality, enforces food safety procedures, and ensures a clean, efficient, and compliant working environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Supervision
Supervise daily pastry production and shop operations
Assign duties, monitor staff performance, and ensure smooth workflow
Ensure adherence to production schedules and standard operating procedures
Support pastry chefs and production staff during peak periods
Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
Food Safety & Quality Control
Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and internal policies
Implement and monitor sanitation procedures
Conduct regular hygiene and quality inspections across the pastry shop
Monitor temperature logs, storage conditions, labeling, and shelf life
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of raw materials and finished products
Identify non-conformities and take corrective actions immediately
Quality Assurance
Ensure consistency in product quality, taste, presentation, and freshness
Monitor waste levels and report quality-related issues
Participate in product testing and quality improvement initiatives
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate food safety, quality, and hygiene records
Prepare inspection reports and follow up on corrective actions
Support internal and external audits when required
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure staff compliance with personal hygiene and safety standards
Conduct on-the-job food safety and hygiene training for team members
Report any health, safety, or quality incidents to management
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree or diploma in Food Safety, Food Science, Quality Control, or a related field
HACCP certification or equivalent food safety training (mandatory or strongly preferred)
Previous experience as a Supervisor in a pastry shop, bakery, or food production environment
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and quality standards
Ability to lead teams and enforce procedures professionally
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work on-site and handle operational pressure
