The MEP Lead Estimator is responsible for managing the estimation process for the complete electromechanical scope of projects, from initial inquiry through tender submission. This role involves reviewing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors, and ensuring competitive and value-engineered tenders.


Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end tendering process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Lead the preparation of cost estimates and material take-offs for MEP projects.
- Review and interpret MEP tender drawings, specifications, and reports to produce complete estimates.
- Issue queries to the Client to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Lead and monitor junior estimators and quantity surveyors.
- Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors, including sending inquiries and evaluating quotations.
- Apply knowledge of manpower requirements across MEP trades to develop accurate labor pricing.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets.
- Identify project risks and propose mitigation measures during the bidding process.
- Prepare MEP post-tender clarifications for client submissions.
- Develop and maintain a network of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain updated databases of unit rates, labor costs, and material prices.
- Support post-tender handovers to project delivery teams.


Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in cost estimation and tendering within the construction industry.
- Extensive experience in MEP contracting estimation.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in estimation and quantity take-off software such as AutoCAD, MS Excel, and Candy.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
