ALMUTAKAMILA (Almutakamila Yemeni Company for Electronic Financial Services) is a startup national shareholding Fin-Tech company, established under Commercial Companies Law No. (22) of 1991. Almutakamila is specialized in electronic financial services, and it uses a unified, comprehensive, robust, secure and interoperable electronic payment solution that supports all features according to the best user experience, which meet the customers’ requirements and facilitates their financial transactions and daily life.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

• Design, install, configure, and maintain databases in SQL Server and other databases as needed.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with DevOps team to optimize application performance and ensure data integrity.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for all databases, including data dictionaries and system diagrams.
• Create and execute test plans to validate database functionality and performance.
• Plan and implement database upgrades, patches, and new releases.
• Manage and maintain disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
• Provide on-call support and troubleshoot issues outside of regular business hours as needed.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and advancements in the field of database administration.
• Provide regular reporting on database performance and usage statistics to management.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure the overall success of the organization's technology strategy.
• Ensure the compliance with the industry standards and best practices related to the databases and data management. 

Requirements & Qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a DBA administrator in a professional setting.
• Strong experience in SQL Server is required.
• Experience with other databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of database design and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database security and backup/recovery procedures.
• Experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with cloud-based databases is a plus.
• Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator is a plus.
• Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional is a plus.
• An understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Good communication skills.
• Energy, self-motivation, a can-do, and collaborative approach.
• Fluency in English.
