POSITION SUMMARY:

Social worker position in Za’atari Camp is responsible for the case management services for vulnerable cases in the camp. This consists of conducting different activities including vulnerability assessment, verification, creating care-plans, follow up for the cases in need, provision of counseling, referrals and distribution of NFIs upon availability and based on UNHCR Vulnerability Assessment Framework (VAF).

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY

 

  1. Program implementation and delivery
  • Case identification, Data verification, assessment, and follow-up through door-to-door visits and virtual calls.
  • Following up, Supervising and monitoring the IBVs (Health Caregivers) to check their daily tasks completion through quality visits and reviewing the daily reports.
  • Follow up on the archiving system to ensure that all collected data & Information were updated, sorted and filtered on time manner for using it when needed.
  • Using the interview form to interview and select Outreach IBV’s.
  • Using internal performance evaluation tool for IBV’s regular evaluation.
  • Develop strong relationships with Humanitarian sectors, in order to support the participation and inclusion of camp population.
  • Intensive follow up with vulnerable cases in coordination with the supervisor, UNHCR and the concerned service providers.
  • Referring all cases received and identified to UNHCR and the concerned service providers, and ensuring the safe referral as per the agreed interagency protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure the full adherence, confidentiality and the smooth flow of the data in the Data Management Component. Engage refugees in identifying their needs and vulnerabilities through various participatory tools such as focus group discussions.
  • Oversee, monitor and follow up with the Incentive Based Volunteers supporting in the same area of function in the camp.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly plans to achieve the assigned target.
  • Plan and implement activities with emphasis on the inclusion of PWDs and older persons.
  • Support in information and awareness messages dissemination using Case Management tools in the field.
  • Presenting the Components’ work internally and externally, when needed.
  • Encourage refugees to engage and enroll in all Blumont activities as well as support community-based initiatives, with emphasis on vulnerable cases.
  • Assist in the organization and implementation humanitarian international events, such as World Refugee Day, 16 Days of Activism, etc.
  • Support in any ad-hoc case management related tasks when requested.
  • Support other colleagues as per the supervisor’s request.
  • Monitor and follow up with the Members of the case management committee ( Social support network )supporting in the same area of function in the camp.
  • Providing regular feedback to case management team members.

 

  1. Meetings and reporting:
  • Report achievements, challenges and trends faced in the field.
  • Immediate reporting for urgent cases and challenges to the direct supervisor and UNHCR.
  • Immediate field incident reporting.
  • Weekly statistical and narrative reports for all achievements in the assigned area of function/district.
  • Team meetings with the team and the direct supervisor to address and discuss work related matters and ways to improve and develop the used tools.
  • Regular meetings with the Incentive Based Volunteers to follow up on their tasks, timesheets, performance and challenges.
  • Attend camp’s working groups’ and meetings as requested by the direct supervisor.
  • Attend field staff and volunteers district meetings.

 

  1. Focal Points on sub-projects:
  • Daily follow up with the team and the beneficiaries on some sub-projects, such as the Alternative Collectors and certain NFI distributions.
  • Identify and verify cases that are eligible to be part of the sub-projects according to UNHCR criteria.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of sub-projects to the direct supervisor and the data management Component.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments, needs assessments monitoring, and other related activities as required by Blumont and UNHCR.
  • Providing regular feedback to case management team members.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested by Blumont or UNHCR teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

University - level degree, social science, sociology, psychology, nursing, or any related field.

 

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • Minimum of two-years’ experience in social work or case management.
  • Excellent communication skills and high professionalism
  • Familiar with the humanitarian context.
  • Works well in cross-cultural environments
  • Working under pressure.
  • Works well both with a team and independently
  • Organized and attentive to details
  • Computer skills including Microsoft word and excel
  • Very good English language skills (reading and writing).
  • Able to submit reports on daily, monthly, annually.
  • Time management.
