Sales & Material Specialist

The Sales & Material Specialist for a footwear factory is responsible for managing the sales processes, building and maintaining customer relationships, overseeing the procurement and inventory of materials needed for production, and managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This role ensures that sales targets are met while maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring the quality and timely supply of materials to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Responsibilities:

Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share.
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, and products.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
Negotiate and close sales deals, handle objections, and resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential clients.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and plans.
Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
Material Specialist Responsibilities:
Source and procure materials required for footwear production, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best deals.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure timely supply of materials.
Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery performance.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding materials and procurement.
Manage and update the materials database, including product specifications, supplier information, and pricing.
Create, maintain, and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) for all products, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure the BOM reflects the latest product specifications and changes.
Analyze BOM data to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure efficient use of materials.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in sales and material management, preferably in the footwear or manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of sales principles, customer service practices, procurement processes, and BOM management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using CRM software, inventory management systems, and BOM management tools.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with market research and data analysis.
