Job Description:
- Develops and maintains an elegantly appointed environment.
- Manages on-going training initiatives while using all available on the job training tools for employees.
- Trains, supervises, Motivates and disciplines all Outlet staff.
- Maintains a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests.
- Ensures a successful handling of the operations.
- Ensures that the correct and consistent service techniques for various meal periods will be demonstrated by all staff members.
- Anticipates all materials and supplies and assures their availability.
- Controls usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment.
- Observes daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the outlet; makes recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
- Conducts daily shift briefing.
- Prepares staff schedules, which allow for appropriate service while controlling labor costs and overtime.
- Forecasts workloads and checks work schedules prepared by supervisors.
- Ensures a safe working environment for all employees within the Outlet.
- Understands all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.
- Maintains a daily log for communication between outlet staff and with upper management.
- Attends and participates in all required meetings.
- Promotes teamwork and fosters a harmonious working climate.
- Promotes good public relations and handles complaints or concerns of
guests.
- Properly handle and report employee and guest accidents.
- Recognizes and addresses potential disruptive or undesirable guests.
- Pays attention to guests' comments and suggestions; immediately take all required corrective measures.
- Handles all inventories directly involved with the operation of the Outlet.
- Utilizes the computer system in ringing, printing and closing checks as well as shift reports.
- Responds properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Performs other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- Continually be aware of departmental needs as they relate to production and staffing.
- Assists F&B director in developing Job Descriptions and reviewing them periodically to ensure their continuing understanding and acceptance.
- Controls standards, performance, employees' conduct, dress code, appearance, sanitation, etc., according to established policies.
- Formulates and recommends changes to improve employees' performance and teamwork.
- Works in co-operation with the Head Chef and Sous-Chefs to ensure top quality and to see that below standard items are never accepted or served.
- Assists, Organizes, Coordinates Special Events and requests.
- Ensures that the waste factor in the hotel is at a minimal level.
- Assists Human Resources in all interviewing, evaluating, discipline, termination related to F&B.
- Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
- Conducts performance annual review to all service employees.
- Coaches and counsels’ employees regarding performance on an on-going basis.
- Checks department cleanliness and set-up before each service.
- Assures that Staff levels are adapted to predicted activity and, if needed, take the required actions to correct discrepancies.
- Participates in service as necessary to ensure agreed standards are met
