GlobeMed Group, the largest Healthcare Benefits Management company in the MENA region is looking for a Medical Coding Officer to perform the coding tasks needed for the development, maintenance and updates of different coding lists to ensure the coding compliance. Also provides medical coding technical support in different projects related to the managed healthcare with the guidance and the supervision of the coding director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Acquires the coding know-how in different coding systems through internal training and through professional education programs in order to be ready for the performance of different coding tasks.
• Assists the coding director in the projects of creating, revamping of coding lists or shifting to new/updated coding systems according to the plan and tasks identified by the coding director.
• Checks the correct implementation of coding lists and updates in GlobeMed operations by working in close coordination with the coding functional managers to detect any errors and ensure the completeness and accuracy of the coding lists.
• Reports any coding issues to the coding director in order to ensure proper solution and correct standardized process.
• Develops and performs educational and training programs on coding and mapping for the staff across the organization.
• Adds and updates the codes as necessary in the system in order to meet the needs of new healthcare technologies and to be in line with the health authorities coding updates and mandates, as per GlobeMed operations requests and the coding director instructions.
• Coordinates and follow-up on the coding projects related to mapping and coding across the organization to ensure that the business requirements and deadlines are met.
• Works on research needed to support coding projects as per the instructions of the coding director.
• Prepares medical and coding dictionaries related to special projects with the supervision of the coding director.
• Performs the mapping of healthcare providers’ price lists to GlobeMed coding list when requested by GlobeMed operations to allow the claims automation at level of healthcare providers.
• Works on the mapping between different diseases coding lists and procedures coding lists for the automation of cross border claims in the organization under the supervision of the Medical Coding Director.
• Provides training on mapping for GlobeMed operations to ensure that they are observing the mapping standards.
• Trains the coders in GlobeMed operations on the use of the screens related to modification of codes and related fields in order to allow the coders to flag the coded items and add information necessary for automation.
• Assists in the development of the coding program presentations material with the guidance of the Medical Coding Director.
• Uploads and maintains the coding course material in the e-learning application and supports any improvement/enhancement needed to ensure the completeness and correctness of the e-learning content.
• Assists in the preparation of manuals and user guides for different projects/applications with the guidance of the Medical Coding Director to ensure the proper application and use of the new developments, concepts and portals.

• Bachelor degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the health care field
• Willing to learn and expand in the medical coding

• Fluent in English
• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Computer literate with good MS Office skills
