The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of the furniture manufacturing facility, ensuring the production of high-quality products in a cost-effective and timely manner. This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and team management within the furniture industry.
Duties and responsibilities
- Production Management: Oversee the entire production process, from raw material sourcing to finished product assembly. Ensure production schedules are met, and products meet quality and safety standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant operations, reduce production costs, and improve overall efficiency. Use lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and enhance productivity.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of production supervisors, engineers, and line workers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Controller to ensure all products meet stringent quality standards. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Budget & Cost Management: Manage the plant’s budget, controlling expenses and ensuring cost-effective operations. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and implement safety training programs.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies for plant operations, including capacity planning, technology investments, and workforce development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in plant management, preferably within the furniture manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software.
