We're looking for a British Army RQMS/CQMS qualified (or other Armed Forces equivalent) Logistics Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of logistical operations in support of ARK's UK Government funded project in Lebanon.

The Logistics & Procurement (L&P) department is responsible for managing the flow of goods, services, and funds through ARK's project lifecycles. This includes overseeing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal, client, and legal regulations. 

As Logistics Manager, you will collaborate closely with the procurement team, project team, and other key stakeholders to manage the flow of equipment through each stage of the supply chain. Tasks will include receiving, inspecting, receipting, recording, storing, transporting, and delivering large quantities of equipment. The overall focus of the Logistics Manager will be to ensure that the right equipment is in the right place at the right time. 

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of project logistics operations. 
  • Collaborate with the procurement team, project team, and key stakeholders. 
  • Manage all project equipment throughout its lifecycle including receiving, inspecting, recording, storing, transporting, and delivering. 
  • Ensure that the right equipment is in the right place at the right time. 
  • Maintain accountability for all project equipment and ARK assets. 

The Logistics Manager is located in Lebanon, a region prone to conflicts involving various state and non-state actors. While ARK has implemented robust safety measures and insurance coverage to mitigate the risks associated with such conflicts, it is important to note that Lebanon frequently faces FCDO warnings advising against non-essential travel.

Technical Skills, Experience And Qualifications

Essential:  

  • Relevant academic or vocational logistical qualifications, or sufficient experience to compensate for the absence of formal qualifications. 
  • British Army RQMS/CQMS qualified or other Armed Forces equivalent. 
  • Native level spoken and written English. 
  • Knowledge and experience of logistics in a military setting including unit or subunit accounting. 
  • Equipment lifecycle management. 
  • Competent in use of MS Office applications and data entry. 

Desirable:

  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or an equivalent professional body, such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or working towards membership. 
  • Arabic language skills. 
  • Project Management qualification. 
  • Experience within an international, project-based organisation. 
  • Knowledge and experience of using MS SharePoint and MS Dynamics.
