Position Summary
Additional perks & benefits for year round employees
The HVAC/R Professional will coordinate and execute all HAVC/R improvements, repairs and preventative maintenance requirements for resort facilities. This position may also require the supervision of any HVAC/R contractors that may be hired for specific jobs. This is a full-time year-round benefit eligible position. The pay range for this position will be between $30.00 - $35.00/hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties
- Boiler maintenance and repairs
- Repair of other HVAC/R equipment, facility plumbing, alarm systems, and any other mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to set program for common areas, room interiors, appliances and all mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Adheres to all safety regulations, local, state, and federal codes.
- Execute specific tasks generated from the resort work order system.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Multitask jobs and complete jobs in a timely manner.
- Work in conjunction with other building trades personnel.
- Create and sustain a safe workplace environment.
Education
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma / Trade school
Experience
- License or certificate in HVAC/R with Type S license for electrical
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in heating and plumbing and refrigeration.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Schematics and manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to complete repairs in various lodging facilities and general resort locations as needed.
- Promote resort principles and guest service philosophies
- Must be available in emergency situations.
- Must be licensed in the state of VT for both oil and propane and refrigeration.
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Travel Requirements
This position may require travel from resort to supply house to acquire materials.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Mountain Environment
- The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
- The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
- Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
- Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
