Job Summary
As the Finance Manager, you will oversee, manage, and report on all financial activities of the company. Your role will encompass accounting, internal control, legal compliance, taxation, and internal and external financial reporting. You will also play a crucial role in strategic financial planning and team leadership within the Finance and Accounting department.
Key Responsibilities
Team Development:
• Lead, manage, and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring continuous professional development through training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Maintain and update job descriptions, fostering an environment conducive to learning and skill enhancement.
Financial Control:
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the accounting books.
• Oversee payroll processing and disbursement.
• Manage cash flow and lead periodic cash counts.
• Supervise shipping and billing activities, ensuring compliance with customer orders.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring adherence to trade terms.
• Review and enhance current business processes, contributing to overall business process improvement.
• Oversee the annual stock count and audit inventory valuation.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and review all financial reports, including internal reports (Financial Statements, Business Analytics) and external reports (Income Tax Return, VAT Return, Tax on Salaries, Indirect Taxes, Tax on Dividends, NSSF) as per regulatory and legal requirements.
Cost Accounting:
• Collaborate with the cost accounting committee to finalize estimate costing and job costing.
• Work with the CEO to establish a permanent cost accounting unit within the company.
Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with national legislations, international standards, and corporate governance.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Strategic Partnerships:
• Develop close and effective working relationships with the CEO and senior managers.
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CMA is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Skills/Competencies:
o Extensive knowledge of financial accounting and Lebanese taxation.
o Strong leadership and people management skills.
o Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
o Fluent in Arabic and English.
