Recruiting for the Levant Region - The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the port container terminal, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and productivity. The COO will work closely with the CEO to execute the strategic plan, drive operational improvements, and lead a high-performing team. - Promote a strong safety culture across all terminal operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead the development and enforcement of safety protocols, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, improve equipment maintenance, and ensure the efficient use of resources.
- Drive innovation through the adoption of new technologies, such as automated handling systems, real-time data analytics, and digital platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operational managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure the team is well-equipped with the necessary skills and training to meet operational demands and future challenges.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including shipping lines, logistics providers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Assist the CEO in developing and managing the terminal’s operating budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Monitor and analyze operational expenses, implementing cost-saving measures without compromising service quality or safety.
- Contribute to the financial planning and forecasting process, providing insights into operational trends and potential risks.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans.
- Support the implementation of expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and capacity enhancement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a senior operational role within the port, maritime, logistics, or transportation industries, with a deep understanding of container terminal operations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of terminal management systems, equipment, and technologies used in modern port operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and achieve performance targets in a fast-paced environment.
